Panopto is a video platform that allows instructors and students to create and share video content (such as online lectures or narrated presentations). Panopto includes a range of useful features for video creation, storage, and delivery, and it adheres to university accessibility standards, including automatic transcriptions and video captioning, variable speed playback and screen reader support. 

Panopto will become available to the NC State community in May 2021. Users interested in becoming an early access user should complete the Panopto Early Access request form

Panopto Help and Support 

During spring semester, 2021, DELTA is training support staff and developing support materials such as workshops and articles to respond to the needs of NC State faculty, staff and students.

Panopto also provides high-quality customer service available 24/7 to all NC State faculty and staff via the Panopto Support site. To gain full access to the Panopto Support website, fill out and complete the Support Portal Registration to create a support site account (this is a separate system from our NC State Panopto instance). When asked to put in your site URL, use ncsu.hosted.panopto.com . Panopto Support includes resources like:

Implementation Timeline

Panopto will be available for all users at NC State beginning in May 2021. For early access to Panopto, submit the Panopto Early Access request form. For additional details about the Panopto implementation project, see:

Signing In

Panopto will become available to the NC State community in May 2021. Users interested in becoming an early access user should complete the Panopto Early Access request form

To access Panopto:

  1. Go to ncsu.hosted.panopto.com .
  2. Select "Unity-Login" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click "Sign in" and authenticate through Shibboleth using Unity ID and password.

Desktop Application 

Video content can be recorded through the web browser using Panopto Capture; however, users that want more granular control while recording (or those who have have limited network connectivity) can also opt to use the Panopto desktop recorder. After logging in to Panopto, select the "Download Panopto"  link located in the top right corner of the video library and select the appropriate installer package for your operating system.
