Guide to labeling
- Labels should be placed 1-3" from the end of the cable, with all the labels facing the same direction inside the rack
- All labels should be labeled with the correct port and opposite device
- Example: OUT 1 Laptop
- There is no need to label anything with “network switch”
- The network cables are color coded but label the incoming network feed cable
- There is no need to label the power cables at the device location
- But they can be labeled on the power conditioner side.
- There is no need to label anything with HDMI or other cable types.
- It is redundant because we already know the type of cable it is.
- Ensure to use the correct label format on the label maker so that it prints the cable label properly according to the image below:
Abbreviations
PC = computer
DMPS = control processor
TP = touch panel
AVB = AV Bridge
RX = Scaler/Receiver
TX = TX transmitter
REC = Epiphan pearl mini media recorder.
DSP = Digital signal processor (BiAmp Tesiraforte)
