The eduroam network is NC State's preferred secure wireless network for all eligible devices. You can enroll your Android devices in eduroam by following the instructions below. The process is the same for enrolling your Android device in eduroam for the first time and for renewing your eduroam enrollment.
Enroll Your Android Device in eduroam
IMPORTANT: Do not delete the SecureW2 JoinNow app after you are connected to the network.
- Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device. Be sure that you are opening the Google Chrome app and not just using the Google search bar.
- Visit the eduroam enrollment site at go.ncsu.edu/eduroamenroll. Make sure that Android is listed as the detected system.
- Select Download on the eduroam enrollment page (under Step 1).
- Install the Secure W2 JoinNow app from the Google Play Store.
- Go back to the Google Chrome app. You should still have the eduroam enrollment site open from Step 2 of these instructions.
- Select JoinNow on the eduroam enrollment page (under Step 2 (Optional)). Select Allow if you are prompted to allow location permissions.
- Sign into your Unity account.
- Select Next.
- Select Save when prompted for "Save this network? JoinNow MultiOS wants to save a network to your phone."
Your device should now be configured for eduroam. If you are on campus, your device should automatically connect to the network. If you are off campus, you should automatically connect to the network when you are back on campus.
