When enrolling an iOS device with Eduroam at NC State you may encounter the following error message during the profile installation step.

This issue is most often seen when a particular network your device is connected to may be blocking certain ports or communication that prevents the enrollment from completing properly.  If enrolling in Eduroam while on campus, the ncsu_guest wireless network will not work and may generate this error.  It is also common to see airports and other public hotspot networks block some traffic.

Forget the ncsu_guest Network if Connected.

Your device remembers each Wi-Fi network that you join and it automatically joins that network again whenever it’s in range.  Forgetting the ncsu_guest network will prevent your device from trying to use that network over cellular or other wireless networks that may also be in range.

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
  2. Tap the blue "i" next to the ncsu_guest Wi-Fi Network.
  3. Tap Forget This Network, then tap Forget to confirm.

After disconnecting from ncsu_guest or the network giving you troubles, try re-enrolling with Eduroam using your cellular service or joining the NCSU network in on campus and signing in with your UnityID and Password.
