If you have the Duo Mobile app installed and activated on your phone, you can generate a Duo Mobile passcode. Duo Mobile passcodes work anywhere, including places where you don't have an internet connection and/or can't get cell service.

Duo Mobile passcodes are especially useful if you are having issues receiving a Duo push or SMS text message from Duo.

Using a Duo Mobile passcode

  1. On the Duo login page, select Enter a Passcode.
    • If Duo is already trying to send you a push notification, select Other options. Then, select Duo Mobile passcode.
  2. Open the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone. Tap your NC State University account in the Accounts list.
  3. Enter the passcode in the Passcode field.
  4. Select Verify.
  5. If you are on your personal device, select Yes, this is my device. If you are on a shared device (e.g., a library computer), select No, other people use this device.
