Overview

Apple's Single sign-on extension (SSOE) is a menu bar utility that keeps your OIT provisioned macOS device in sync with your NCSU Unity Account. In addition to the elimination of keychain prompts and other authentication frustrations, Apple's SSOE provides a shortcut to NCSU's Password Change Form.

How To Change Your Password

1.  Click on the black key icon in the menu bar.

2.  Click Change Password...

3.  This will take you to the Password Change Form in your default browser.

4.  After you change your password, you will be presented with additional messaging from Apple's Single sign-on extension.

A.  Top field - Type your Unity ID password

B.  Bottom field - Type the Mac password.  The Mac password is the password used to login to the computer.

5.  DONE! - Your passwords are now in sync.

* Note: It is important that you are on campus or connected to the VPN when changing your password.

Troubleshooting

1.  Make sure you are signed in.  If the key icon is gray that indicates you are signed out.  If the key icon is black then you are signed in.

2.  You may receive this prompt after signing in.  Please input the following:

A.  Top field - Unity ID, e.g. psarmstr

B.  Botton field - Unity ID Password

3.  Make sure Sign in automatically is checked.

4.  Once you have successfully signed in, the key will turn from gray to black.

*Note - Password expires in x days is not an accurate reflection of true password expiration.
