Bring Your Own Meeting (BYOM) to a DELTA Zoom Room Instructions
You will be given access to the Zoom room calendar of the DELTA classroom that you are teaching in once you notify DELTA that you would like a Zoom connection. You will schedule your Zoom session in Google calendar one of two ways:
1. Directly from the Zoom portal
A. Add the classroom to your Google calendar list using the “Add this calendar” link in the email invitation you receive from DELTA.
B. Create a Zoom session in the Zoom portal (https://ncsu.zoom.us/). Add the necessary details, including:
- Selecting “Recurring meeting” if your session takes place regularly and selecting an end date.
- Adding your technician as an alternative host (directions located at the bottom of the article), and then click “Save”.
C. On the following page, select add to “Google Calendar”.
D. You will be directed to connect your calendar, please select the calendar connected to your unity ID and continue.
E. Once the calendar event populates, select “More options” to edit your event in detail.
F. In the “Guests” field type in the DELTA classroom you are teaching in and add it as a guest. Once selected, the room name will populate as a different name, that is expected.

G. Click “Save” and the scheduled event will populate on your calendar as well as on the Zoom room’s calendar. You can view the classroom calendar by selecting it under “Other calendars”.
2. Directly from the Google Calendar
A. Add the classroom to your Google calendar list using the “Add this calendar” link in the email invitation you receive from DELTA.
B. Add the “Zoom for Google Workspace” add-on to your Google calendar using “Google Workspace Marketplace”. Please ensure that you are logged into the google account connected to your unity ID.
C. In Google calendar create a calendar event on the start date of your course.
D. Specify details, including setting recurring dates if your course occurs regularly and selecting an end date.
E. Create a Zoom session within the event by clicking “Add Video Conferencing” and then “Zoom Meeting”. The Zoom session will show up in your Zoom portal.
F. In the “Guests” field type in the DELTA classroom you are teaching in. Once selected, the room name will populate as a different name, that is expected.

H. In the Zoom portal (https://ncsu.zoom.us/) go to your scheduled session which will be located under “Meetings”, and select “Edit”.
I. Add your technician as an alternative host (Instructions below).
Adding your Technician as an Alternative Host:
Alternative Hosts can only be assigned during scheduling or before the scheduled start time. You can assign multiple alternative hosts. To add a technician as alternative host follow the following instructions:
- Go to https://ncsu.zoom.us/
- Login into Shibboleth (Google).
- Select “Meetings”.
- Hover your mouse over your meeting scheduled in a DELTA Classroom and select “Edit”.
- Scroll down to "Options" and click "Show".
- Add your technician as an alternative host by adding their email address to the alternative host field located at the bottom of the page (your technician will reach out to you prior to the first day of classes).
