Instructors may periodically need to access academic Moodle courses from prior semesters for various reasons, including, but not limited to, obtaining student grade data and/or course content.
This article provides instructions on how to access these courses.
Accessing Previous Academic Moodle Courses
To find and access previous academic Moodle courses via WolfWare, follow these instructions.
- Login to WolfWare.
- On the My WolfWare page select the Past tab.
- Scroll through the list of WolfWare spaces to find the course in question.
- Click on the course title to open the relevant Moodle site.
Users who have bookmarked the previous year’s server should update those bookmarks. To link directly to a Moodle course, or to set up a direct browser bookmark, be sure to use the correct Moodle server for the current academic year. Log into a Unity account if prompted.
Additionally, if accessing a course one year after the course was completed, a VPN connection will be required to access the appropriate Moodle server. Follow the instructions in OIT's "How do I install the NC State VPN client?" article to use NC State's VPN service.
Moodle courses and the relevant data within those courses is only retained for four years per our WolfWare Retention Guidelines, SOP.WW-WolfWare.006. Any courses older than four years are no longer available.
