You can activate or reactivate the Duo Mobile app if you:

If you got a new phone number and can't sign in using Duo, then you should follow the instructions on how to change phone numbers in Duo without access to your old login method.

Access the My Settings & Devices Page

You must access the My Settings & Devices page to add or update your phone to Duo Mobile.

  1. Go to the Duo Enrollment and Device Management page. We recommend that you visit this page on a computer if possible.
  2. Sign in with your Unity ID and password.
  3. Use an alternative login method to sign into Duo. Send Me a Push will typically NOT work.
    • Use an SMS (text) passcode.
    • Use another device (e.g., tablet, phone, or security key) that is also already enrolled in Duo. (If you are using another device, make sure that Device: at the top of the box shows the correct device.)
    • Call the NC State Help Desk at 919-515-4357 (HELP) for a Duo bypass code.
    • Visit our Walk-in Center.

Activate or Reactivate Duo Mobile

After you log in, you should be on the My Settings & Devices page.

  1. Select + Add another device underneath your list of devices.
  2. Select Mobile phone. Select Continue.
  3. Enter your phone number.
  4. Select the check box to replace your phone number.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Duo Mobile app.

Get Help

If you need further assistance, you can contact the NC State Help Desk by submitting a request in the IT Service Portal or calling 919-515-4357 (HELP). You can also visit the OIT Walk-in Center.
