Important to read BEFORE upgrading:
Before going through the steps listed below, make sure to save all of your work and to have a backup of all your important local files in the event of issues.
Allow plenty of time for the upgrade to complete. Depending on computer age, software, network bandwidth and other factors, it could take as little as 30 minutes or exceed one hour.
This update will require you to restart your machine. Once the upgrade starts, do NOT interrupt it under any circumstances.
If these upgrades are not done manually, and there is no approved exception to remain on Windows 10, the upgrade will be forced to your computer in approximately 3 to 4 weeks. That mandatory upgrade will remove the ability to schedule it at a convenient time.
Please follow the steps listed below. If you have trouble, please remember the step you were on and submit a ticket to eoshelp@ncsu.edu with details on the issue so our team can help you resolve it.
