Some printers require that a code be input into its configuration prior to being used.
Step 1:
- Click on your Start Menu and start typing Printers
- It should auto-complete and present you with the option Printers & scanners
- Click on Printers & Scanners
Step 2:
- Click on the printer that needs a code
- Click on the Manage button
Step 3:
Click on Printing preferences
Step 4:
- Click on the Basic tab at the top of the window
- Then click on the button Authentication/Account Track
Step 5:
- Enter your code into the Password field
- Click on the Verify button
- You should receive a message that says, "Verification has succeeded."
- You must click OK, APPLY and OK again for your changes to be saved
- Send a test print to the printer to ensure it is working correctly
