Contact the NC State Help Desk for a Duo Bypass Code

Self-service Duo bypass codes are NOT currently available. Duo bypass codes can currently only be generated by the NC State Help Desk.

You can contact the Help Desk by calling 919-515-4357 (HELP). Staff are available to generate bypass codes over the phone 24/7.

If you are unable to call the Help Desk, please submit a request on the IT Service Portal or email the Help Desk at help@ncsu.edu requesting a Google Meet or Zoom Meeting. Be sure to include a day and time that you are available to meet Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Use Your Duo Bypass Code

You can use your Duo bypass code when logging in after they have been generated by the Help Desk. Note that Duo bypass codes are one-time use only and expire one hour after they are generated.

  1. Sign in with your Unity ID and password.
  2. If Duo automatically sends you a push or other log-in verification, select Other options. Otherwise, select Enter a Passcode if prompted.
    • For VPN, enter the bypass code in the Second password field.
  3. Select Bypass code.
  4. Enter your bypass code in the Bypass code field.
  5. Select Verify. If prompted and you are on your own device, select Yes, this is my device. If you are on a shared device (e.g., a library computer), select No, other people use this device.
