All active students and most active employees of NC State are provided a license to use Microsoft Office 365 at no cost to the individual.  For a list of all software products made available to the campus community, please visit software.ncsu.edu.

Online Access

  1. Visit the Microsoft Office website 
  2. Select Sign-in in the upper right-hand corner of the page
  3. Sign-in with your NC State email address, Unity password, and Duo.

Once signed in, you will have access to use all Microsoft Office 365 products online.

Downloading Microsoft Office 365

CAUTION (Windows 10 Only): After you download and sign-in to Office, DO NOT select the option to "Allow your organization to manage your device"; choose "No, sign-in to this app only."

  1. Follow the steps above to access the online version of Office 365.
  2. Select Install Office in the upper, right-hand corner of the page.
  3. In the drop down menu, select Office 365 apps.
    • If you need to install office in another language, select Other Install Options.

  4. Your download will begin shortly.  Follow the prompts on your screen to continue with the installation
