What is WolfPrint FollowMe Printing?

This document explains how WolfPrint FollowMe Printing works and provides the basic instructions for confirming and releasing a print job.  The intended audience is an end user.

Information

FollowMe Printing

This secure service enables users to send a print job to a virtual queue, where it can be held for up to 12 hours, and then later printed out on any WolfPrint printer that supports the virtual queue where the job was sent.  The print jobs are not stored on a physical device and can only be retrieved by the person who sent them, after they log in, confirm, and release them at a supported WolfPrint printer.

For example, if you choose WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite as your virtual printer, you can print out your job at any black-and-white or color printer model.  The WolfPrint Black and White and Color printer queues accept only letter-size files and are supported on ALL WolfPrint printers.  The 11x17 queues are supported on the Savin SP C840dn printers only.

Step 1. Submit a File

There are 4 FollowMe (virtual) printers.

After you have submitted a print job to a virtual printer, locate a physical printer to confirm and release it.  The WolfPrint printers can be easily located on this Printer Map or for an online list of printers, locations, and capabilities, visit https://go.ncsu.edu/printers.  Each physical WolfPrint printer should have a QR code with the printer name on it and a FollowMe Printer label identifying it as a black and white or color printer.

These are the basic steps to print your file after it has been submitted.  For step-by-step instructions, see Confirming and Releasing a WolfPrint Job

Step 2. Find a Printer

Visit https://go.ncsu.edu/printers to locate a WolfPrint printer that supports the virtual queue where you sent your file.

Step 3. Confirm and Release

*Complete this step within 12 hours, or your print job will be automatically removed from the system.
