Before you start - connect to the NC State Network!
To use WolfPrint, your device must be connected to the campus network. If you’re off campus, establish a secure connection to the NCSU VPN service before trying to use the WolfPrint service.
-
- On-Campus: Connect to eduroam or ncsu Wi-Fi
- Off-Campus: Use NC State's VPN Service
No printer setup is needed for iOS and iPadOS devices.
Mobility Print advertises printers to iOS and iPadOS devices on the campus WiFi and over NC State's VPN connection. Once your device is connected to the NC State network, no additional setup steps are required.
Known Issue: If you do not see the WolfPrint printers while on eduroam during your initial connection, use the ncsu Wi-Fi (not guest) first to acquire them. After that, they should also be available on eduroam. If not, please see the troubleshooting section at the end of this document.
Step 1. Send your print job to a WolfPrint virtual printer.
- Print as you normally would, and select the desired WolfPrint Printer.
- When prompted, log in using your Unity ID and password.
Step 2. Find a WolfPrint physical printer.
To locate a physical WolfPrint printer that supports the virtual queue you used, visit go.ncsu.edu/printers
- If you sent a print job to the WolfPrint-BlackandWhite virtual queue, find a Black and White OR Color printer.
- If you sent a print job to the WolfPrint-Color virtual queue, find a Color printer.
Step 3. Confirm and release your print job.
*Complete this step within 12 hours, or your print job will be automatically removed from the system.
- Log in to the printer using your Unity ID and Password.
- You can use your WolfPack One/NCSU ID in the card reader or manually enter it at the control panel.
- Or scan the QR code with your phone's camera for "touch-free" print release.
- Follow the prompts to release your print job.
- Important! Be sure to select the account to charge for printing.
- If you have access to a Shared Account, select the account from the list shown.
- If you see the message "No results found. Please try another search term", tap "Use Personal Account".
It is rarely reported that an iOS or iPadOS device doesn't find the correct WolfPrint printers when using Eduroam or the NCSU wireless network, with the DNS settings set to auto. A workaround for this issue is to download the profile listed here: https://print.ncsu.edu:9164/client-setup/known-host/ios.html
This should connect your device to the mobility print server. If this does not resolve the issue, stop here and report a WolfPrint Problem. Someone from the WolfPrint support team will contact you to help get you connected.
