Using Mobility Print with Chrome Browser or ChromeOS

This document provides instructions for setting up Mobility Print on a ChromeOS device.  The intended audience is an end user.

Information

To add the WolfPrint printers for Mobility Print during setup, your device must be on the NC State network.  On-campus users, connect to Eduroam or the NCSU wireless network.  Off-campus users, connect using NC State's VPN Service.

Effective June 30th, 2024: Chrome OS uses a browser extension for PaperCut’s Mobility Print service, instead of the former Mobility Print App.  If you have a previous version of the App installed, you will be prompted to update it.  When you launch the Chrome browser, follow the update wizard to add the extension.

Adding Mobility Print to Chrome OS

1. Visit the Chrome Web Store, search for Mobility Print, and select the Mobility Print extension by papercut.com.

  • Click on the blue “Add to Chrome” button at the top right.

  • Choose “Add extension” to install the Mobility Print Extension.
  • You should receive a “Welcome to PaperCut Mobility Print” notification.

Submit your file(s)

2. Print like you normally would from your device.

  • Open the page you want to print.
  • Choose the desired WolfPrint FollowMe Printer, and make sure "Mobility Print" is in its name.
    • WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite (Mobility)
    • WolfPrint-Color (Mobility)
    • WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite-11x17 (Mobility)
    • WolfPrint-Color-11x17 (Mobility
  • Select the desired print options
  • Click Print to send your job to a WolfPrint printer.

  • When prompted to sign in, use your Unity ID and password.

Confirm your print job

3. After your print job is submitted, you must confirm it within 10 minutes, or it will automatically be removed from the system.

  • Open the PaperCut Web Client at https://go.ncsu.edu/wolfprint
  • Log in with your Unity ID and password.
  • After a few seconds, you should get a Print Job Notification pop-up.
  • Select the PaperCut account to charge and then click Print.
  • Another pop-up message should appear, indicating the file is ready to print on a FollowMe printer.

Release your print job

4. After your print job is confirmed, you must release it within 12 hours, or it will automatically be removed from the system.

  • Your print job will be held in a virtual queue for up to 12 hours.
  • Find a WolfPrint Printer to release your print job.
