Information
FollowMe printing ensures that WolfPrint is safe and secure. By using the virtual FollowMe printer queues, print jobs are not stored on a physical printer, and can only be released when the authorized user who sent the job authenticates at the device. With WolfPrint's FollowMe Printing, a print job can be sent from any location and later retrieved at any WolfPrint printer that supports the virtual queue where the job was submitted.
There are four virtual (FollowMe) printers:
WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite
WolfPrint-Color
WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite-11x17
WolfPrint-Color-11x17
You can release your job at any physical printer that accepts jobs from the virtual printer you choose. For example, if you choose WolfPrint-BlackAndWhite as your virtual printer, you can print out your job at any black-and-white or color printer model. The WolfPrint Black and White and Color printers are supported on ALL WolfPrint printers. The 11x17 queues are supported on the Savin SP C840dn printers only. See go.ncsu.edu/printers for a list of printers, locations, and capabilities.
Each physical WolfPrint printer should have a QR code label with the printer’s name, for touch-free print release, and a WolfPrint FollowMe label identifying it as a black and white or color printer.
Mobile printing instructions
Retrieving a print job
1. To log in at a physical printer, swipe the red stripe of your NCSU ID in the card reader. If you don’t have your ID card or if the card reader isn't working, log in manually using the control panel with your Unity ID and password.
2. Select “Print Release” on the screen. The screen will display the jobs you have submitted to the FollowMe print queue supported by that printer. You can release all jobs at once, or you can select a specific job to print or cancel.
3. When finished, remember to log out from the home screen.
Time limit
The WolfPrint virtual queues will hold a print job for up to 12 hours. After that, it will be automatically removed from the system.
Escalation
Any questions on process or content contained in this document should be escalated through the NCSU Help Desk and have an incident assigned to the OIT_WOLFPRINT support team.
