Purpose

This article provides migration guidance OIT-MD Apple users to complete he Jamf Pro migration from nc.jamfcloud to ncsu.jamfcloud.

Things to note for macOS

1.  You may see prompts during the migration regarding Crowdstrike, Privileges, and/or Cisco AnyConnect System extension prompts.  Please click OK.  This is purely a timing issue due to configuration profiles from the old instance being removed and new configuration profiles being applied.

2.  If Self Service+ and the Privileges app do not appear in the Dock (showing as a ?) after the device is migrated, you can logout and log back in, or open the Terminal.app and type killall Dock

3.  There is a blueprint set globally that applies all software updates.  This will go into effect shortly after the computer has completed enrollment into the new Jamf Pro instance.  The recommendation is to make sure your computer is up to date prior to migrating.

Things to note for iPadOS and iOS

1.  Restart required

2.  Updates to the latest supported version of iOS/iPadOS will be enforced.  The recommendation is to make sure your device is up to date prior to migrating.

3.  Expected time to migrate is about 10 minutes if the OS is current prior to the migration starting.
