Instructors teaching in classrooms that are equipped with the necessary capturing hardware will have those classes automatically recorded. They will receive an e-mail from DELTA prior to the start of a semester with specific details regarding their classroom capture.

Overview of Classroom Recordings
Again, instructors teaching in classrooms that are equipped to capture will have those classes automatically recorded.These recordings are stored and managed via NC State's Panopto instance. The instructor is the owner of the folder containing their recordings and has full access control of the recordings. Students attending the class are able to view recordings by default but should have the proper folder linked provided to them by the instructor.
Instructors are provided access to their specific Panopto classroom recordings folder before the start of each semester via the email from DELTA. This email provides the direct URL to the relevant recordings folder. They will likely want take one of the following actions when they receive this email.
- Opt out of the recordings
- Provide students the folder link
- Adjust folder permissions to meet their specific needs
Please note that the physical hardware that is located within the classrooms is managed by ClassTech and any issues with those items should be directed to the OIT Help Desk. Q. I need to give a student(s) the option to watch the class in realtime, how can I make the recording a webcast (livestream)?
A. Panopto has the ability to turn any scheduled recording into a webcast (livestream) so that students can watch what is being recorded in realtime. This feature is not enabled by default so the instructor will need to request that the webcast be turned on for their specific course recordings. Q. What if I don't want my class recorded?
A. Instructors have the ability to opt out of these automated classroom captures. To do so they simply need to formally request that their class is opted out via the Classroom Capture Change Portal.
