Failure to receive push notifications is often due to a network issue with your phone.
Sometimes push notifications do not reach your home screen. Open the Duo Mobile app on your phone, then send yourself another Push notification. Look for the words One request waiting, tap to respond... Tap on these words to approve the push notification. If you do not see this option, continue reading.
If you have a new device or recently performed a factory reset, follow these directions to re-establish push notifications.
- If using WiFi make sure that you have internet access using that network.
- If you are on campus, ensure that your device is properly connected to the NCSU WiFi.
- If using your mobile data plan, confirm that you have cell phone service.
- Try moving to an area with better service and trying again.
- If you are in an area with good service, disconnect from your WiFi network to ensure you are using your data plan.
If you are still unable to receive push notifications after verifying internet access through one of the above methods, or simply don't have internet access on your phone, you will need to manually generate a code.
- Manually generate a passcode from the Duo Mobile App
- Receive a passcode via text message
- Generate a self-service bypass code online
