The steps will guide users on how to login on the Cisco Secure Client VPN. To install the Secure Client, see How Do I Install the NC State VPN Client?
Authenticate to the NC State VPN with Duo
- In the Cisco Secure Client, type vpn.ncsu.edu and select Connect.
- From the group drop down menu, select the appropriate VPN group for your needs or affiliation at NC State.
- Enter your UnityID and password.
- In the Second Password field, type one of the following to initiate Duo Two Factor Authentication:
- push to receive a Duo Push to accept.
- sms to get an SMS passcode sent to your phone (this will restart the authentication process).
- A code from the Duo Mobile app.
- A self-service Duo bypass code.
- Select OK and wait for Cisco Secure Client to connect to the NC State network.
NOTE: You must keep the Cisco Secure Client open to maintain the VPN connection.
