Licensing (30 Days Offline Reduced Functionality Mode)

  • Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise communicates with the Licensing Service daily to verify the license status and extend the product key. As long as the computer can connect to the internet at least once every 30 days then Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise remains fully functional. If the computer goes offline with no internet connectivity for more than 30 days then Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise enters the reduced functionality mode until the next time a connection can be made to the internet.
    * Reduced functionality mode is when Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise remains installed on the device, but users can only view and print their documents. All features for editing or creating new documents are disabled. To regain Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise into a fully functional state again connect the system to the internet and let the Activation and Validation Services reactivate the installation.  Additional OIT support may be required if activation is not successful.
