Moving Google My Drive Data to a Google Shared Drive for a paid quota increase.

If your My Drive exceeds your quota, you can request a paid quota increase for a shared drive.

To begin the process:

1. Submit a ticket to help@ncsu.edu to indicate you wish to move an account’s My Drive overage to a shared drive with the name and full url of the shared drive you wish to move the My Drive/user overage.

2. If not coming from your Local IT department, the Help Desk will forward the request back to Local IT for their awareness of the additional paid storage for the next fiscal year.

3. Once Local IT approves, the Help Desk will provide the quota increase and provide seven (7) calendar days to transfer storage to the shared drive.

4. After seven days, the account's quota will be automatically reduced to the default for the type of account.  If My Drive storage still exceeds this, the My Drive will be read-only until the storage is moved.

5. Please contact the Help Desk with any questions about this plan or steps.
