Your voicemail PIN protects access to your messages and account settings. For security reasons, you may need to update your PIN periodically or change it if you believe it has been compromised. You can change your Voicemail PIN online or over the phone by using the instructions below.
Note: If you have forgotten your current PIN, you must reset it online.
PIN Requirements:
Your new PIN must meet all security requirements listed below.
- Your PIN must contain exactly six digits. Only numerals are allowed.
- Your PIN must NOT include:
- Your primary extension or its reverse
- All consecutive digits in order, such as 12345 or 98765
- The same digit repeated more than twice in a row, such as 25888
- Repeated groups of three or more digits, such as 902902
- A numeric representation of your first name, last name, or any combination of them
- You cannot reuse any of the last three PINs you have created.
Changing your Voicemail PIN Online
Use the online method to update your PIN. This is also the required method if you have forgotten your current PIN.
- Sign in to the Personal Communications Assistant with your Unity ID and password.
- Select Messaging Assistant.
- Navigate to Passwords, then select Change PIN.
- Enter your new PIN in the "Confirm your New PIN" field.
- Select Save to complete the change.
Your new PIN takes effect immediately.
Changing your Voicemail PIN by Phone
You may change your PIN by phone only if you know your current PIN.
- Dial into voicemail.
- On-campus - Dial 26245.
- Off-campus - Dial 919-512-6245.
- When prompted, enter your current PIN.
- From the main menu, press 4 for Setup Options.
- Press 3, and then press 1.
- When prompted, enter your new six-digit PIN.
