Normal Change

Normal Change

Normal changes are not pre-authorized or pre-approved and there are no routine procedures or work instructions. This type of Request for Change (RFC) is not routinely done and the outcome may not always be known.

RFCs in NEW state can remain in this state indefinitely getting updates. The RFC is not considered a live change and is not measured for its time in state. Only the Change Requester has access to the change record.

Once all information has been entered in the RFC, the Change Requester/Implementer can advance the RFC to ASSESS state via Request Approval where the Change Approver(s) will assess the content of the RFC for completeness, quality and validity for it to proceed through the process.  All Change Approver(s) are  responsible for approving the RFC.

If the RFC is rejected, the change state reverts to New and the Change Requester is notified to resolve the discrepancies.  Only one rejection is necessary for the RFC to be sent back to New state.

Approved RFCs go to the change authority(s) that AUTHORIZES the change.
