Set up Your Voicemail


The campus voicemail system, Cisco Unity Connection, lets you manage your voicemail messages, greetings, and settings online or by phone.

Note: The word ‘Unity’ in this product name does not refer to the Unity campus computing environment.

Before completing your voicemail setup, you must create a Voicemail PIN

Create or Change Your PIN Online

  1.  Log in to the Personal Communications Assistant with your Unity ID and password.
    1. (VPN is required if you are off-campus.)
  2. Click Messaging Assistant.
  3. Select Passwords > Change PIN.
  4. Enter your New PIN.
  5. Confirm your New PIN.
  6. Click Save.

If you forget your PIN:

You may create a new one using the same steps above. You do not need your current PIN to reset it online.

You may also change your PIN over the phone, but only if you know your current PIN. See the Change Your Voicemail PIN article for instructions.

Complete Your Voicemail Setup

After creating your PIN, complete your voicemail setup using one of the options below.

From Your Own Campus Phone

  1. Dial 26245.
  2. When prompted, enter your PIN.
  3. Press #.
  4. Follow the prompts to:
    • Record your name
    • Record a greeting

From Another Campus Phone

  1. Dial 26245.
  2. When the system answers, press * (do NOT enter your PIN yet).
  3. Enter your ID (the last FIVE digits of your campus phone number or mailbox number—NOT your Unity ID).
  4. Press #
  5. Enter your PIN.
  6. Follow the prompts to:
    1. Record your name
    2. Record a greeting 

 From an Off-Campus Phone 

  1. Dial 919 512 6245.
  2. When you hear the welcome message, press *.
  3. Enter your ID (the last FIVE digits of your campus phone number or mailbox number—NOT your Unity ID).
  4. Press #
  5. Enter the PIN.
  6. Follow the prompts to:
    1. Record your name
    2. Record a greeting
