Complete the Post-Departure Employee Data Retrieval form. A valid Project ID, along with approval from a manager and the designated bookkeeper, is required before the request can be fulfilled. Once approved, a Cybersecurity Operations team member will contact the requester for details and coordinate the data retrieval.
A $1,500 service charge has been implemented for requests to retrieve data after an employee leaves the university. The Office of Information Technology has analyzed the time and effort required to retrieve data and make it available to the requester. This charge represents that time and effort.
The service charge is billed through the Project ID provided in the Post-Departure Employee Data Retrieval form.
Complete all action items in the separation checklist to retrieve all necessary data before the employee leaves the university. Requests for a single file or piece of information may not incur the service charge. The Cybersecurity Operations team will contact the requester before billing to ensure clarity on the request.
This service charge will not apply in the event of rapid separation or death. Investigations and records requests are also not part of this process.
Data may include the former employee’s primary NC State account (Unity ID), email and Google Workspace files, access to enterprise systems, and access to departmental applications and systems.
