Using the NC State Full Tunnel VPN encrypts and routes all traffic through the VPN connection to the NC State Campus before being sent to its final destination.

Warning: The use of VPN software may be illegal in certain countries and could subject the user to criminal prosecution.

Before Connecting

• Faculty and Staff Automatically have access to the Full Tunnel VPN Group.
• Students Need to request access to the Full Tunnel VPN if you have not already done so and wait for the request to be completed.
• Download and install the Cisco Secure Client for your device.

Connecting to the Full Tunnel VPN

Note: The Full Tunnel VPN connection may or may not grant access to NC State services the same way as when you are connected with the other VPN groups you generally use.

1. In the Cisco Secure Client, type vpn.ncsu.edu and click Connect.
   
2. From the Group drop-down menu, select the appropriate full tunnel group.
   
   • • Faculty and Staff: 6-Faculty-and-Staff-FT
     • Students: 7-Student-FT
       
   
3. Enter your Unity ID Username and password.
4. In the Second Password field, enter one of the following to initiate Duo Two Factor Authentication:
   • push to receive a Duo Push. Be sure to check the Duo Mobile app for the push. Note: This is the default when this field is left empty.
   • A code from the Duo Mobile app.
   • Get a Duo code when you only have a Security Key/U2F Token.
5. Click OK.
