Classroom Camera Presets

In every ClassTech-supported Zoom and Panopto-enabled Classroom, there are 3 camera presets to select, all of which are available from the room’s touch panel. To change the camera’s preset, select the “Room Control” button via the light bulb icon on the right side of the touch panel to populate the control window.

  1. The Lectern preset is a close-up of the teaching area adjacent to the document camera and computer.
  2. The camera board preset is aimed to capture the chalk or dry erase board. If the room has a wide board or many boards, there may be blue tape marking off two corners of the area captured by the middle preset.
  3. The camera wide preset is aimed at a wide view, capturing the entire front of the classroom.

Make sure you are seen by the Camera- ask your students for feedback as well.

To monitor via Zoom, join a Zoom meeting from the Classroom PC. Make sure the camera is set as “room camera.” Pay attention to yourself on the camera, then test the available camera presets as described in the first section. Preferences will not be saved so be sure to select the appropriate setting at the start of each lecture.

If you are recording via Panopto, camera presets will populate on the touch panel 5 minutes before your scheduled recording time and will display for the duration of your recording. This will show you whether or not you are visible in the camera's preset.
