Extension Mobility User Guide


Note: You must have the Extension Mobility (EM) feature enabled to use it. To learn how, please refer to the Overview of Phone Services and Features article.

 

Set Your Phone Services PIN

  1. Log into the myphone Self Care Portal (go.ncsu.edu/myphone) with your Unity ID and password.
  2. Click General Settings > Phone Services PIN and set the following values:
    1. New PIN:
    2. Confirm PIN: 

TIP: Finesse/Call Center customers: Use your agent extension as the PIN. It makes it easier to remember!

LOGIN with Extension Mobility on a 7800 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) 
  2. Select Extension Mobility or press the number key corresponding to it.
    *If you do not see this option, it has not been enabled for that particular desk phone  - see the note at the top.
  3. Enter your Unity ID in the UserID field using the phone keypad.
  4. Press down on the circle navigation button, enter your Phone Services PIN, then press the softkey under Submit.
  5. You should see "Login Successful", then press the softkey under Exit.

LOGOUT of Extension Mobility on a 7800 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) 
  2. Select Extension Mobility or press the number key corresponding to it.
  3. Press the softkey under Yes at the "Logout <your unityID>" screen.
  4. You should see "Logout Successful", press the softkey under Exit.

LOGIN with Extension Mobility on an 8800 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) 
  2. Select Extension Mobility or press the number key corresponding to it.
    *If you do not see this option, it has not been enabled for that particular desk phone  - see the note at the top.
  3. Enter your Unity ID in the UserID field using the phone keypad.
  4. Press down on the circle navigation button, enter your Phone Services PIN, then press the softkey under Submit. 
  5. You should see "Login Successful", press the softkey under Exit.
  6. Press the softkey under Exit again to return to the main phone page.

LOGOUT of Extension Mobility on a 8800 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) 
  2. Select Extension Mobility or press the number key corresponding to it.
  3. Press the softkey under Yes at the Logout <your Unity ID> screen.
  4. You should see "Logout Successful", press the softkey under Exit.
  5. Press the softkey under Exit again to return to the main phone page.

LOGIN with Extension Mobility on a 6900 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) and arrow down to Extension Mobility, then press the Select button.
    *If you do not see this option, it has not been enabled for that particular desk phone  - see the note at the top.
  2. Enter your Unity ID in the UserID field using the phone keypad.
  3. Press down on the up/down navigation button, enter your Phone Services PIN, then press the Submit softkey.
    *You may need to press the down arrow to see the PIN option. 

LOGOUT of Extension Mobility on a 6900 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Applications button (button with gear icon) and arrow down to Extension Mobility, then press the Select button.
  2. Choose Logout, then press the Select button.
  3. Confirm that you wish to Log out.

LOGIN with Extension Mobility on a 7900 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Services button and arrow down to Extension Mobility, then press the Select softkey.
    *If you do not see this option, it has not been enabled for that particular desk phone  - see the note at the top.
  2. Enter your Unity ID in the UserID field using the phone keypad.
  3. Enter your Phone Services PIN and then press the Submit softkey. 

LOGOUT of Extension Mobility on a 7900 series IP Phone

  1. Press the Services button and arrow down to Extension Mobility, then press the Select softkey.
  2. Choose Logout.
  3. Confirm that you wish to Log out.
