How to map a printer via IP address or Host name to a Microsoft Windows PC.

The steps to map a printer are as follows:

1. Open the start menu in the left bottom corner of your desktop.

2. Type "Add a printer" and select the option from the start menu.

3. Choose Add Device in the top right corner

4. Select Add Manually

5. Choose the radio button for "Select a Shared Printer by name" and click Next.

6. Enter the Host name of the printer.

\\OITMD-Print01\OITEAS-AFH-205-KonicaMinolta224e for the printer located on the north side of AFTC.

\\OITMD-Print01\OITCOM-AFH-218-KonicaMinoltaC368 for the printer located on the south side of AFTC.

7. Click Next and wait for Windows to search for the printer.

*In the event you are unable to use the full name of the printer you may use the IP address of the printer, which can be found by printing a configuration page directly from the printer control panel.

On the “Additional port information required” page, click Next.

On the “Install the printer driver” page, select the proper driver based on the model of printer. If you do not have one for the model, you will need to download a driver from the manufacturer’s website or use a generic PCL driver. You can find the HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 for HP printers the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads portal

You must click OK, Apply, and OK again for your changes to be saved
