Google Developers is a consumer service provided from Google as part of the NC State Google Workspace for Education additional services. As a consumer service, it is not included in NC State’s support agreement with Google. Users who make use of this service can use their Google account to access private documentation (for example, pages restricted to members of an Early Access Program) on sites like developers.google.com or www.tensorflow.org and may see content recommendations based on pages they visit on Google's developer sites.
Currently, Google Developers is enabled, but users are not recommended to tie any badges, training, or other individual resources to it as the access could be removed from NC State University at any time and those resources would be permanently lost for the user.
At this time, users should create Google Developer accounts with personal Google accounts for the purposes of certifications, badges, and training offered by Google through this platform.
NC State only provides Google Developer access to allow users to access the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Console, Firebase Console, and other Google Developer services without needing to use a direct link.
For obtaining certifications, badges, and training offered by Google, users should create personal Google Developer accounts (with personal Google accounts)
For all NC State University business (GCP, Firebase, etc.) NC State accounts should be used.
Note: NC State Help Desk cannot support personal Google Developer accounts for any reason.
