This document introduces a crucial new method to enable Google Calendar Sync, beginning with Cisco Jabber version 14.3.x (Windows and Mac versions). This method is essential for all users to ensure seamless integration of their calendars.
Cisco Jabber is set to sync with Google Calendar by default. New users may be prompted to enable this feature when logging in for the first time or manually enabling it within the menu settings.
When launching the latest version of Cisco Jabber and Google Calendar sync is enabled, the client will check the calendar sync and may prompt you to sign in to your NC State Google account in a browser window.
If you are already logged into your NC State Google account, you will be prompted to choose that account and log in again via Shibboleth
When prompted with the “Cisco jabber wants additional access to your Google Account,” click Continue.
When prompted, a browser window will pop up with a one-time code. Even though it says, “Go to the Webex App," you should see a Jabber window where you can enter that 4-digit code and click Verify. (the window may be behind the main Cisco Jabber window)
Close the browser tab if you see the browser window showing this message after an extended period.
To confirm that Google Calendar is syncing, open the Cisco Jabber app and locate the calendar icon on the left-hand side of the client. Click on it to see your calendar items listed, indicating successful synchronization.
