Starting in 2025, JMP Licensing has changed from a license file model to a user based subscription model. Although JMP calls this the Student Edition, it is also available to Employees engaged in teaching and research.
JMP Pro Student Edition on ClassTech Computers
JMP Pro Student Edition will be deployed to computers in ClassTech classrooms and ClassTech managed Unity lab machines. Because of this, you won't have to worry about the download and install portion of any other online instructions to use JMP on any ClassTech classroom computers, however you will have to sign up for a My JMP account with your NCSU Unity email address, obtain a license, and activate your access on each computer you wish to use JMP.
NOTE: To avoid any issues with activation delays, faculty wanting to use JMP in ClassTech classrooms should sign up for a My JMP account, activate their license, and use JMP on their own office computer or another device prior to attempting to use JMP during a class. Contact your departmental IT support for getting JMP Pro Student Edition installed on your office computer.
Activation will have to be done once per year.
Validation will have to be done any time you attempt to use JMP on a new computer. For ClassTech computers, this also includes the first time using it after a machine is reinstalled or replaced.
