I Need to Fix My Duo Because SMS is Going Away

On November 5, OIT will be disabling SMS text message codes as a way to authenticate with Duo. To continue accessing campus resources, you will need to switch to using the Duo Mobile App using the steps below. Note that DUO TEXT/SMS CODES WILL STILL WORK FOR THIS PROCESS EVEN AFTER NOV 5TH TO ALLOW YOU TO ENROLL IN THE DUO APP.

First, download the Duo Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play store. Then follow the directions below. It will be easier for you to do this on a computer, rather than your phone. If you prefer, you can watch these instructions as a video.

  1. Visit https://go.ncsu.edu/duoenroll.
  2. click 'Enter a Passcode'.

  14. On your phone, you may get a message from Duo asking if you added the device. Just tap 'Yes this was me'.

  15. On your phone, you'll be asked to name the account. You can just leave it as-is and tap 'Save'. Your phone may also ask if you want to practice using Duo. Just tap 'Skip.' Now you are done on your phone. Don't worry about the code it is showing or anything else. Just close the Duo app. If you want to practice now, use an incognito window on your computer and log in to MyPack Portal.
