Beginning fall 2025, all new IT Purchase Compliance (ITPC) requests and renewals will be submitted and tracked through ProcessUnity. ProcessUnity will provide users with more visibility on the status of requests and expedite the annual renewal process. Before submitting a request, please review the ITPC process.
Create/Submit an ITPC Request
Note: Check Tool Tips throughout the request process for additional assistance.

- Log in to the ITPC tool with your Unity ID and password.
- Confirm you are on the Workspace page. If not, select it from the left-hand menu.
- From the General menu, select My Requests to create a new request and see status updates for previous requests.

- Click New from the top menu bar:
- Initial required fields will appear in the Request Record section.
- The request form is dynamic and required fields may change based on information you enter.

- Scroll down to the Request Info section:
- Your name will automatically populate as the Requester.
- Select your IT director and others who need to be notified about the request status.
- If the user is not in the list, they will need to log in to the ITPC tool with their Unity ID and password first.

- In the Service Details section:
- Confirm or update the Primary Service Contact field.
- Populate the following fields:
- Department/College Using Service
- NC State Technical Contact
- Service Website URL

- Complete all remaining sections.
- Click save on the right to confirm all required fields have been completed:
- Save your progress often to avoid losing data.
- If any required fields remain, they will appear in the Request Record section at the top of the page.
- Click Edit to continue updating.

- Once all required fields are filled out, click Submit Request. Requests cannot be edited after submission.

- A confirmation email will be sent to you along with any additional designated users.
Status Updates
Navigate to My Requests to check the status of your requests:
- Expand or collapse Filters for additional filtering options.
- Sort by any of the report’s column headers.
After your request is submitted, Vendor Risk and License Management (VRLM) will verify the request and route it for review. Routing is based on request specifications and may include the following reviewer groups:
- Security
- Accessibility
- Architectural Review Board
- Export control
- Email communications
- Enterprise data integration
- Electronic payments
Notes:
- You may be contacted by Reviewers for more information.
- You will be notified once all reviews are completed.
- If your request is approved, you can continue on to the next steps of the procurement process.
More Information Required/Edit Request
After submitting your request, you will be contacted if additional information is required.
- Log in to the ITPC tool with your Unity ID and password.
- Navigate to My Requests.
- In the More Information Required section, click the Request ID to open the request.

- Review the Information Required field with the Reviewer’s comments.
- Click Edit and update necessary information.
- Click Save once all information has been updated.
- Click Resubmit/Add Comment to submit your revisions.
- You can send a message to Reviewers if needed during this step.
- Click OK to confirm you have provided all requested information.
- Click Cancel to return to the form and continue editing.

Status Definitions
Submission Status
- Draft: Request started but not submitted
- Sent to VRLM: Request is being verified by VRLM team
- More Information Required: Request has been returned to Requester for additional information
- Request Submitted: Request is being sent for necessary team reviews
- Cancelled: Request has been cancelled
Review Status
- Draft: Request started but not submitted
- Sent to VRLM: Request is being verified by VRLM team
- More Information Required: Request has been returned to Requester for additional information
- With Vendor: Vendor is providing information for the review process
- Analyst Review: Pending approval by NC State Reviewer(s)
- With Vendor - Follow-Up: Reviewer has requested additional information from vendor
- Completed - Approved: Request has been approved
- Completed - Rejected: Request has been rejected by one or more approver groups
- Cancelled: Request is no longer active
- Prepare to Send: VRLM preparing request for routing
Profile Preferences
In the upper right-hand corner, click your profile icon to change the following default settings:
- Toggle on/off Split Layout
- Set new homepage
