By default, Google Group display names are set to the local-part (local-part@domain) part of the email address.  To make your group display name a little more formal, consider modifying it using the instructions below.

Note: Modifying the display name will not change your group email address.

1. Sign in to Google Groups.
2. Click My groups.
3. To the right of the group name, click Group settings (gear icon).
4. Make your changes in the Group name field.
5. Click Save changes.

Along with changing your group's name, you may consider modifying other group identifying information like your subject prefix and footer.
