Set Up Your Voicemail (First-Time Use)

1. Log in at voicemail.ncsu.edu

2. Create a PIN (you will need this for Step 6)

3. Call the campus voicemail system: 

• On campus: dial 26425
• Off campus: dial 919.515.26425

4. Press *

5. Enter your ID (last 5 digits of your campus phone number or mailbox number)

6. Enter your PIN and follow the prompts to: 

• Record your name
• Record your greeting

Note: If you do not hear a setup confirmation, repeat from Step 3.

 

Access Your Voicemail

From Your Campus Phone

1. Dial 26425 or press the Messages key

2. Enter your PIN and press #

From Another Phone

1. Dial the voicemail system:

• On campus: 26425
• Off campus: 919.515.26425

2. When the system answers, press *

3. Enter your ID (last 5 digits of your campus phone or mailbox number

4. Enter your PIN and press #

 

Listen to New Messages

While a Message is Playing

• 1 Replay the message from beginning
• 2 Play message by number
• 3 Play previous message
• 4 Play next message
• 5 Play message properties
• 6 Mark message as new

Volume Controls

• 7 Decrease volume
• 8 Normal volume
• 9 Increase volume

Playback Speed

• 2 Pause / Resume
• 3 Fast forward a few seconds
• 33 Fast forward to end
• 4 Slow playback
• 44 Slower playback
• 6 Faster playback

 

After a Message Ends

Selection

• 1 Skip back a few seconds
• 4 Replay message from beginning
• #Play next message
• 5 Get message properties

Respond to a Message

• 8 Reply
• 82 Reply to all
• 83 Call sender

Message Actions

• 6 Forward message
• 7 Delete message
• 9 Save as heard
• ## Save/restore message as new

 

Send a Voicemail Message

1. Record your message and press #

Editing Options

• 1 Review recording
• 2 Re-record message
• 3 Add to the message
• 4 Add name
• 5 Hear all names and delete

Delivery Options

• 1 Urgent
• 2 Return receipt
• 3 Private
• 4 Mark message as secure

 

Review Old Messages

• 8 Saved messages
• 82 Deleted messages

 

Find Messages

• 6 From another user
• 7 From all outside callers
• 9 From a specific caller

 

Voicemail Shortcuts

• 0 Help
• * Cancel
• # Exit the system

 

Voicemail Settings

• 1 Change greetings
• 2 Turn alternate greetings on or off
• 3 Change message notification
• 4 Choose full or brief menu
• 6 Change PIN
• 8 Change recorded name
