This document is intended to guide end users how to back up and restore Microsoft OneNote Notebooks. 

 

  

Information

 

The Office of Information Technology always recommends backing up any important information to be restored later for use.  The steps below are how to backup and restore information in OneNote.

 

Steps to Backup OneNote.

This process saves OneNote for backup purposes.

1. Choose File, Options.
2. In the OneNote Options dialog box, choose Save & Backup.
3. On the right, under Save, choose Back Up All Notebooks Now.
4. When you see the notice that the backup is successfully completed, click OK.

 

Steps to Import into OneNote.

This process restores OneNote for use.

1. Open your OneNote application.
2. Click File, Info, Open Backups.
3. In the Open Backup dialog box, double-click the folder of the notebook you want to restore, select the notebook section you want, and then click Open.
4. Right-click its section tab and then click Move or Copy

• Backup OneNote
• Restore OneNote
