The Free Web Publishing Blogs environment uses automatic account creation to ensure that the information for the user login is validated.  In order to grant access to the site:

1. Have the user you wish to grant access to login to the site: https://my-site-name.wordpress.ncsu.edu/wp-admin – this will register the user as a Subscriber to the site.
2. Navigate to the All Users list: https://my-site-name.wordpress.ncsu.edu/wp-admin/users.php
3. Check the box next to the user account you wish to elevate
4. Change their role via the "Change Role To…" box at the top of the page to one of the default roles: Administrator, Editor, or Author, as appropriate. See WordPress Roles and Capabilities.
5. Hit the "Change" button

The user now has the new role within the site.
