This article provides migration guidance for OIT-MD Apple users to complete the Jamf Pro migration from nc.jamfcloud to ncsu.jamfcloud.`
OIT has created a new Jamf Pro instance (our configuration management system), and all university devices need to be enrolled in it.
1. You may see prompts during the migration regarding Crowdstrike, Privileges, and/or Cisco AnyConnect System extension prompts. Please click OK. This is purely a timing issue due to configuration profiles from the old instance being removed and new configuration profiles being applied.
2. If Self Service+ and the Privileges app do not appear in the Dock (showing as a ?) after the device is migrated, you can logout and log back in, or open the Terminal.app and type killall Dock
3. There is a blueprint set globally that applies all software updates. This will go into effect shortly after the computer has completed enrollment into the new Jamf Pro instance. The recommendation is to make sure your computer is up to date prior to migrating.
4. Make sure you have good network connectivity. VPN is NOT required.
5. No data loss is expected, but it's always a good idea to backup your files.
6. No restart is required
7. Expected time to migrate is about 10 minutes if the OS is current prior to the migration starting.
8. Computers that do not meet the criteria to migrate will be addressed with ServiceNow tickets.
