The Digi AnywhereUSB appliance is provided by OIT to connect USB-based devices to endpoints that don't have a physical USB port, such as a VM.

The AnywhereUSB client software is required to be installed on the endpoint.  The software installer is provided upon request.

• Install the software by proceeding through wizard.  When prompted, select the "Run as a Service" option.
  
• Click Finish, leaving the options as default.
  
• In the unique Client ID prompt that follows, enter the endpoint/machine's FQDN (including DNS suffix).
  
• In AnywhereUSB Manager, add the hub by going to "Known Hubs"
  
• Enter the hub IP address (to be provided by OIT_PLATFORM) and click add.
   
• Once connected there should be a hub and at least one group visible.  Expand out the group.  Ultimately the USB device should be listed and with a right-click the option to connect the device should be available.
  
• Once confirmed that the device is visible, go up one level (to the Group) and select "Enable Auto Connect".  This should permit the device to automatically reconnect following reboots.
