Re-Linking Google File Embed Activities in a Copied Course

When a course is copied between Moodle servers in the transition between academic years, embedded Google file links may need to be re-linked in the course.

This article provides guidance on re-linking embedded Google files in a copied course.

Re-Linking a Google File Embed Activity

To re-link a Google File Embed activity that was copied to a new course:

  1. Navigate to the Google File Embed activity in the Moodle course.
  2. In the activity menu at the top of the page, select the Settings tab.
  3. In the Edit settings page, click the Select content button.
  4. Link the NC State Google account with Moodle.
  5. Click the Select file button.
  6. In the Insert files using Google Drive menu, find and select the Google Drive file to link to the activity.
  7. Click the Add button.
  8. In the confirmation dialogue, click the Attach button.
  9. In the Edit settings page in Moodle, click the Save and display button.

This will select the appropriate Google Drive file to embed into the Moodle course. Repeat this process for any other embedded Google files that need to be re-linked.
