How to Uninstall Adobe Applications - Creative Cloud


This Knowledge Base Article will show you how to re-install Adobe Applications. You may encounter Adobe Apps that require administrative permissions to uninstall/repair. You may do so without those permissions using this method.  This fixes the common error: Error: 1 Please uninstall and reinstall the product

How-To:

We will use Adobe Acrobat DC as an example:

 

Launch your Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application.

 

Once Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop launches and you are signed in with your NCSU E-mail, follow the instructions below:

 

1. Under the Installed category, select the three dots (...) next to the application and choose Uninstall.

 

 

2. Allow the Application to Uninstall, this may take 1-5 minutes.

Once finished, the Application will leave your Installed list. You will see it populate in the Available in your subscription list. Where you may select to Install.

 

 

3. Select to Install the Application. It will transition from Waiting > Installing (%..) > Extracting. This may take 5-30 minutes depending on the Application and your internet speed. 

 

 

4. Complete! Once finished, you will see your Application re-populate in the Installed category. You may now Open the freshly installed Adobe Application.
