How do I enroll or re-enroll in eduroam for Windows 10 and above?

NC State students, staff, and faculty members can follow the steps below to connect to eduroam on a Windows device. The steps for enrolling in eduroam for the first time and re-enrolling in eduroam are exactly the same.

Enroll or re-enroll in eduroam

  1. Go to the eduroam enrollment page.
  2. Ensure that your device's system is detected as Windows.
  3. Select Join Now and download the SecureW2 JoinNow program.
  4. Locate and run the SecureW2 program titled WiFi_North_Carolina_State_University_Wrapper.
    • If asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" or any other security warnings, select Yes.
    • If the program does not open correctly, right-click the wrapper file and select Run this program as an administrator.
  5. The SecureW2 installation window will appear. Select Next.
  6. Log into Shibboleth using your Unity ID and password in the browser window that appears. Select LOG IN.
  7. The SecureW2 JoinNow program will automatically begin the installation. Once the configuration is complete, select Done.

If you continue to have issues with enrolling or re-enrolling in eduroam, try forgetting the eduroam network and enroll again.

Connect to eduroam

When you are in range of the eduroam network, your device should automatically connect to eduroam. You can confirm that it is connected in your computer's Wi-Fi settings.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select Network & InternetWi-Fi.
  3. It should say "Connected" underneath eduroam.
