Disallowed Paper Size Error in WolfPrint

This article explains what the disallowed paper size error in WolfPrint means and how to resolve it.  WolfPrint supports US Letter (8.5" x 11") and Tabloid (11" x 17") page sizes only.

 

Information

If you receive a PRINTING DENIED email in your NC State Gmail, your document was canceled due to a Disallowed Paper Size error. To prevent paper jams and delays, WolfPrint automatically cancels jobs formatted in non-standard paper sizes (such as A4 or Legal).

Supported Paper Sizes & Queues

WolfPrint supports US Letter (8.5" x 11") and Tabloid (11" x 17") sizes only.

• US LETTER

  • Queues: WolfPrint-BlackandWhite or WolfPrint-Color

  • Availability: Available on all WolfPrint printers.

• TABLOID

  • Queues: WolfPrint-BlackandWhite-11x17 or WolfPrint-Color-11x17

  • Availability: Available on C840 models only (located in the College of Design and Fitts Woolard Hall).

How to Fix the Error

To successfully print your document, convert its page setup to Letter or Tabloid using one of these methods:

• Re-save from the Native Application
• Open the file in the program used to create it (Word, Acrobat, Illustrator, etc.).
• Go to Print or Page Setup, select Letter or Tabloid, and submit the job again.

Use Mobility Print

• Submit through Mobility Print, which automatically scales non-standard pages to fit LETTER-size paper.
• Note: Always confirm the target page size in the print dialog box before submitting.

Custom Sizes (Wolf Xpress)

If your document must be printed in a custom or non-standard size (such as A4 or oversized posters) and cannot be reformatted, Wolf Xpress is an alternative print service available on campus.
