Reporting a Phishing/Spam Text

Smishing is a combination of the terms "SMS" and "phishing." It is similar to phishing but refers to fraudulent messages sent over SMS (text messaging) rather than email.

Reporting a Spam Text

When you receive a spam text message on your phone, forward that text to the shortcode 7726 (which spells "SPAM"). You'll then receive an automated message from your wireless carrier, asking you to enter the phone number from which the spam text was sent.

If you are an AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, or Bell customer, you can report spam text messages by forwarding them to 7726 free of charge.
