Single Number Reach
The Single Number Reach service allows you to set one or more alternate numbers (e.g., your cell phone, home phone, or any other phone you choose) to ring simultaneously when a call comes into your campus desk phone. In addition, Single Number Reach allows you to schedule the times you wish to receive calls. Single Number Reach also allows you to receive a call on your desk phone and seamlessly transition the call to your cell phone or vice-versa.
Best of all, it's completely FREE!
Implementing Single Number Reach
- Visit the Self-Service page to enable the service. This page will open in a new tab.
**Note: VPN is required to access Self-Service when off-campus.
- Once you have enabled the service, close the tab.
- To customize Single Number Reach to your specific requirements, refer to the Setting Up Single Reach section of the myphone Self Care Portal User Guide article.

Extension Mobility
Extension Mobility allows users to temporarily access their Cisco Unified IP Phone configuration, such as the appearance, services, and speed dials from other Cisco Unified IP Phones. This feature is handy for users who work in different offices and require access to their primary phone line from any university phone.
Best of all, it's completely FREE!
Implementing Extension Mobility
The first phase of implementing Extension Mobility is to Contact Us (oit_ct_uc@help.ncsu.edu) and arrange a meeting to discuss your needs.
Points to consider before the meeting:
- An EM profile needs to be created before the feature can be used.
- Each phone must be enabled to use EM before a user can log in.
- A user can only be logged into 1 phone at a time. Subsequent attempts to EM into additional phones will cause previous sessions to close (logout).
- The voice system will automatically log users out after 12 hours. This is because all EM sessions are on a 12-hour timer.
Once the EM profile has been created and all required phones are enabled, users must complete the following steps:
- Log into EM and set a PIN. This unique PIN must be managed separately from any other PIN or Password associated with the University.
- Review the Extension Mobility User Guide.
- Log into EM using their Unity ID and PIN they set up in step 1.
