Check Storage Usage for a Google Shared Drive


Google shared drives have a 15 GB storage limit per shared drive. You can check how much storage your shared drive is using in Google Drive.

View Storage Used by a Google Shared Drive

You can view the storage used by a Google shared drive by following the relevant instructions below for your device.

View on a Computer

  1. Go to drive.google.com.
  2. Select Shared drives tab from the menu on the leftmost side of the page.
  3. Select the specific shared drive that you want to check.
  4. Select the View details button (the circle with an "i" in the middle) in the upper-right part of the page. 
  5. Select the Details tab.
  6. View the Storage used in the Drive details section. You may need to scroll down.

View on a Mobile Device

  1. Open the Google Drive app on your phone or other mobile device. Make sure that you're signed into your NC State Google account.
    • You can check what profile you're signed into by selecting your profile picture on the upper-right corner of your screen. You can switch accounts there if necessary.
  2. Select the Files tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the Shared drives tab towards the top of the screen.
  4. Select the specific shared drive that you want to check.
  5. Select the More options (the three dots in a vertical line) button in the upper-right corner of your screen.
  6. Select Details & activity.
  7. View the Storage used.
