Jamf Pro/Apple Device Management

OIT provides access to the Jamf Pro Server as the deployment of the UNC System wide management service for macOS, iOS, iPadOS and tvOS devices. Primary service for the web inventory and management tools (the JSS) is provided by a JAMF Software hosted solution at nc.jamfcloud.com.  A JAMF Software hosted (JCDS) cloud distribution servers are used for delivery of software installation packages. The service is a high-availability, fully-redundant, enterprise service.  A clustered database is fully redundant and high availablity with back up for disaster recovery.

OIT is using this service to manage lab machines, private workstations, kiosks, and digital signs. Other campus units that have purchased a Jamf Pro license share the service to manage and inventory their hardware as well.
